Shual

Meaning: fox; path; first · 1 cross reference · Modern-day map available

Shual was the district through which Saul searched for the lost donkeys, likely related to the Shaalim or Shaalabbin naming group. The exact relation among those names is not certain, but it is important because the district belongs to the ordinary-seeming route that turns into the beginning of kingship. First appears in 1 Sam 13:17.1
