Rabbah was the chief city of the Ammonites east of the Jordan and later one of the most important urban centers in that region. It is important because of David's war with Ammon, the siege associated with the Bathsheba-Uriah narrative, and its continuing role in Israel's eastern political world. First appears in Deut 3:11.1
